NIPA WEDNESDAY RECREATIONAL LEAGUE

About the League

  • Fun recreational league, with just the right amount of rivalry
  • League will run for 12 weeks starting Oct. 8 and concluding on Dec. 10
  • Games played mostly on Wednesday nights 7:30 to 9:30 with two Tuesday games
  • If there is demand, a 9:30 time slot will be opened
  • Maximum of 12 players per time slot

Cost

Cost is $72 per player, paid up front in advance for the 12-week league ($5 court fee plus $1 prize pool per week)

Game Information

  • Games start at 7:30pm and finish at 9:30pm. It is recommended to show up approximately 15 minutes early to stretch and prep for the evening
  • Players pick a card numbered Ace (1) – Queen (12) at the beginning of each session
    • That is player number for the night
    • Schedule will be posted and followed each week (using player numbers)
  • 10-minute warmup at the beginning of the time slot
  • 5-minute intermission between games
  • Games are first to 11 points or 10 minutes in length, whichever comes first
  • Points are tracked after each game
    • Win, lose or tie a game the player gets the points the team finished with during that game
    • The final score indicates the points each player gets for that game (e.g. Score 11 – 4, winning players both get 11, losing players both get 4)
    • Points are tallied at the end of the night
    • Points are tallied until the end of the season
    • If you can’t play one week, choose a substitute from preapproved spare list of similar skills
    • You can substitute no more than 2 times in a session
    • 3 plus missed games, no points are awarded for third or more missed weeks
    • Spares play at no cost as court and prize money is covered by league member

Prizes and Season End Dinner

  • Prizes will be awarded at League dinner on Dec 17 (location to be determined by league members)
  • NIPA will provide pizza or a specific amount towards a dinner at a restaurant that we agree to
  • Cash prizes will be award to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners
    • 1ST place winner $70
    • 2nd place winner $50
    • 3rd place winner $24

Registration Opens Monday September 15 at 6pm via email to pellerin.stevenl@gmail.com and will be on time-stamped first come first serve basis.  The first 12 will automatically be entered into the 7:30 league.  If there are more than 12 members interested, then a second time slot will be opened.  Players will be notified by September 16 of registration status and provided with e-transfer information for advanced payment.
