NIPA Celebrates National Pickleball Day

Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association (NIPA) celebrated National Pickleball Day on Saturday August 9 with a complimentary BBQ and free all-day pickleball for its members and guests.

Each year on the second Saturday in August, Pickleball Canada encourages clubs across Canada celebrate National Pickleball Day with their members and local communities.  The goal of National Pickleball Day is to inspire member clubs to share their love of the fastest growing sport in Canada.

“NIPA is a pickleball and social club so we take every opportunity to bring our members together to mingle and meet other members.  National Pickleball Day provided another reason for our members to come together to come together and introduce family and friends to this great sport.  It was our privilege to offer free court time and a parking lot BBQ to our members and their guests,” said James Fraser, NIPA President, Founder and nick-named the Godfather.

Also to promote pickleball locally, NIPA will be running Beginner Clinics throughout the fall starting in September.  Each Clinic consists of two, two-hour sessions on Monday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at a cost of $25, which is refunded against NIPA membership fee if registrants choose to join the Club.

NIPA is a non-profit organization run entirely by member volunteers and is an official affiliate of Pickleball Ontario.  Its first branch, located in Concordia Academy at 1165 Centre Street in Fenwick, first opened its doors in October 2024 and now boasts of 189 members.
