NIPA Tips A Cap To Launch Its First Annual General Meeting

Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association (NIPA) held its inaugural AGM on Saturday, June 7 in the Club’s gym, welcoming all members to attend and bring their ideas to improve the Club.

“It was a proud moment to host our first AGM,” said James Fraser, President of NIPA. “We welcomed seven new members in just the past week, bringing our total membership after only eight months in operation to 187.  It is amazing to look back on what has been accomplished to create the fun pickleball and social club that we have become.”

The AGM consisted of a review of year-end and year-to-date financials, key growth factors and a look back on key milestones, since first opening NIPA’s doors in October 2024.  It also included a mini-brainstorming session on fun activities to bolster revenue during low indoor playing season, since the majority of members enjoy outdoor pickleball for the summer.

One of the highlights has been NIPA’s Beginner Clinics, which has enticed about 90 new potential players to the sport, with almost 70% conversion to membership.  NIPA offers two, two-hour clinics for $25, which is credited against membership for attendees who join.  “Our Beginner Clinics have been a huge success,” said Len Doyle, Director of Player Development.  “The demand is continuing to grow as the sport continues to attract more and more people of all ages.”

The AGM was capped off with pizza and wine at Sons & Daughters Winery, a beautiful oasis in the heart of Fenwick.

NIPA is a non-profit organization run entirely by member volunteers and is an official affiliate of Pickleball Ontario.  Its first branch, located in Concordia Academy at 1165 Centre Street in Fenwick, first opened its doors in October 2024 and now boasts of 187 members.
