Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association (NIPA) is hosting an informative and engaging presentation on pickleball performance and injury prevention, led by Dr. David Harper, creator of the Pickleball Performance & Injury Prevention Workshop.
This session explores why common aches, strains and setbacks happen in pickleball and how many can be avoided with simple, science-supported strategies. Participants will discover how mobility, balance, posture and recovery habits affect power, stamina and consistency. They will also learn how small adjustments in preparation and mechanics can significantly reduce the risk of issues such as shoulder impingement, knee strain, Achilles irritation and pickleball elbow.
This presentation offers players a rare opportunity to understand the body’s movement patterns and identify the hidden factors that often limit performance or lead to injury. Attendees will gain practical tools to strengthen vulnerable areas, improve alignment and support their long-term health so they can approach every match with greater confidence. The session empowers players to take charge of their own well-being and become the driving force behind their continued success on the court.
Each attendee will receive a copy of Dr. Harper’s Pickleball Workshop Workbook to reinforce key concepts and provide a helpful reference after the session.
The event takes place on Thursday, January 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association, 1165 Centre St., Fenwick, in the Social & Presentation Room across from the gym. Admission is free for members and $5 per guest. Seats are limited, so reserve your spot soon to ensure you can take part. To register or find out more, email NIPAtheNews@gmail.com.
