Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association (NIPA) continues its popular Wellness & Performance Series with a new presentation titled “Keep Your Eye on the Ball”, taking place Wednesday, March 4 at 6:00 pm at Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association (NIPA), 1165 Centre St., Fenwick.
This presentation is the third in the Wellness & Performance Series, following “Claim Your Brain” by Jocelyn Pepe and “Peak Performance and Injury Prevention” by Dr. David Harper. The series is designed to give players practical tools and insights that support better performance, injury reduction and long-term enjoyment of pickleball.
Keep Your Eye on the Ball focuses on the critical role vision plays in pickleball success. From tracking fast-moving shots to improving reaction time and anticipation, visual skills are foundational to player development. If you cannot see or track the ball effectively, meaningful improvement is not possible.
The presentation will be delivered by Dr. Gregg Seddon, a retired optometrist with more than 30 years of clinical experience in ocular health and vision care. Dr. Seddon practiced optometry for over three decades and was a trusted member of the Dunnville community throughout his career. He retired from practice in 2024 and remains active in pickleball and other outdoor pursuits. Dr. Seddon is also a proud NIPA member, bringing both professional expertise and firsthand playing experience to this session.
During the presentation, Dr. Seddon will review the basic neurology of eye hand coordination, explore practical ways to enhance visual tracking and discuss key visual skills used during pickleball play. He will also touch on common eye related injuries and trauma associated with the sport. The evening will conclude with interactive group vision activities and a question-and-answer session.
The event is free for NIPA members. Guests are welcome for a fee of $5.
